02/02/2007 - New MOBOTIX location decided

02.02.2007. After more than a year of careful consideration and examination, the MOBOTIX AG Supervisory Board has decided to set up the company’s new location at Winnweiler, located near Autobahn A63 between Kaiserslautern and Mainz. MOBOTIX will purchase approximately 4 ha (almost 10 acres) of land plus another neighboring 10 ha (almost 25 acres) for future expansion at the Langmeil industrial park beside the Schramm factory. Thus, the company is returning to the location where it originally resided during the first three years from 1999 to 2001. The first phase of construction is planned to accommodate approximately 200 employees.

Due to the excellent offer made by the city of Kaiserslautern, the decision to leave the city and move into the neighboring region was a very difficult one to make. Even more so since MOBOTIX has always maintained very close ties with the city of Kaiserslautern and always enjoyed the support of Lord Mayor Deubig. However, after waiting an entire year for a possible location at PRE II, the initially targeted area near Kaiserslautern, the company’s strong growth made it absolutely necessary to make a decision that allowed reliable planning. Financial aspects did not play a part in the choice of the location.
