Positioning Of The PoE Supply
Mx2wire+ requires a PoE power supply via a standard PoE switch (Class 0, IEEE 802.3af) for operation.
If no PoE switch is used, power can also be supplied using the NPA-PoE set from MOBOTIX.
Additional network devices for Mx2wire+ and end devices are normally not required.
1. PoE supply from router to Mx2wire+ unit
Mx2wire+ always requires at least 6 W to be supplied by a PoE source (to power the Mx2wire+ devices).
Note: Mx2wire+ always logs on to the switch as a Class 0 device.
2. PoE supply to Mx2wire+ unit and PoE device
Camera and Mx2wire+ are separately powered by the PoE switch.
Note: The connection of a DSL router without direct PoE supply from the router is only possible when the Mx2wire+ on the other side is powered by a PoE source.
3. PoE supply to both Mx2wire+ units simultaneously.
Cables exceeding a certain length can still transfer data but no power.
Note: In case the length of the bell wire exceeds the maximum, so that the Mx2wire+ unit on the other side cannot be powered any more, it is possible to supply both units simultaneously using two separate PoE sources.
4. PoE supply using a MOBOTIX PoE injector (MX-NPA-PoE kit)
The MX-NPA-PoE kit is an appropriate PoE power supply according to IEEE 802.3af.
Note: The blue MX-NPA-PoE kit from MOBOTIX is available as an accessory. It is used in case no standard PoE switch (IEEE 802.3af) is available.
