04/04/2011 - MOBOTIX Honored With Platinum Level 2011 Security Products' GOVIES Award
MOBOTIX Q24 selected for innovation it provides to government environments
New York, April 4, 2011 — MOBOTIX, an industry leading provider of high-resolution, network-based security solutions, announced today that it received the Platinum-level 2011 Security Products’ Govies Government Security award for the MOBOTIX Q24 Hemispheric Camera. The award, presented by leading industry trade publication Security Products, recognizes outstanding products that address security challenges in the government market. The awards were announced at GovSec 2011, the nation’s largest and most comprehensive government security exposition held last week in Washington.
"MOBOTIX is the first company to apply the value of the decentralized approach to surveillance with the innovation of hemispheric technology to meet the unique requirements of the physical security market," said Steve Gorski, General Manager, Americas, MOBOTIX. "This award demonstrates our commitment to providing surveillance solutions that help government customers maximize security and deliver long-term cost savings by replacing multiple traditional cameras with one Q24."
The MOBOTIX Q24M Hemispheric camera is an ultra-compact, 3.1MP IP dome camera with a special hemispheric lens. When mounted on the ceiling, the camera is capable of providing a complete 360-degree all-around view or when mounted on the wall, provides a 180-degree panorama, which delivers a widescreen, high-resolution 180-degree view. It includes MxControlCenter, a professional video management software which can connect any number of cameras at any locations into a straightforward and powerful video security sytstem with centralized or local, user-based operation and evaluation, at no cost.
The Q24 is further enhanced by the MOBOTIX decentralized approach to video surveillance. Each camera incorporates a high-speed computer and internal flash memory card (MicroSD card). All recording and storage takes place within the camera, reducing the need for a separate PC or DVR.
The Security Products’ Government Security Awards were launched in 2009 and re-launched as the Govies in 2011. Earlier this month, the judges narrowed down the 2011 submissions to those achieving top status. Platinum and Gold designations were announced during the 2011 GovSec conference.
"It’s exciting to have the opportunity to display so many outstanding government security products in our booth," said Ralph C. Jensen, Editor-in-Chief, Security Products. "GovSec is an ideal venue for security companies to show off their products to the government industry."
