Alarm messaging

MOBOTIX cameras come with a complete alarm management already integrated which notifies the user or control center if it detects events. The alarm can be transmitted as:

  • a local voice message over the camera speaker (such as "You have been recorded"),
  • an email with an event image or sequence,
  • a phone call via IP telephony or ISDN with the possibility of bidirectional communication,
  • a network message to a server or control station (IP notify).

Independent of the recording, both separate week-time control and a differentiated group of events can be selected for alarm messaging. The camera can be set in such a way that while all events prompt recording to start, only certain (filtered) events activate an alarm. All settings can be defined easily via profiles, enabling the user to change the alarm response behavior setting very quickly.

Key-operated switch

If the user needs to be able to access the monitored area outside the week schedule, alarm messaging can be filtered by means of a key-operated switch, for example. In this case the switch input on the camera is used for enabling. The camera can also be set to record in any event.

Individual voice message

Multiple individual voice messages can be saved in the MOBOTIX camera and can be prompted by events or called up by the user by clicking a soft button in the browser. In addition, messages can also be output on a time-controlled basis. Time control can be set to the precise minute over the course of the day and offers great flexibility in allowing for days of the weeks, months and even public holidays.
Voice messages can be output locally on the camera speaker or via a phone call. The recording can be made in the camera via:

  • an integrated camera microphone,
  • a phone call via IP telephony or ISDN,
  • or as a file (*.wav, *.tar, binary) via the browser.

The camera management functions also support the transmission of voice files from one camera to several others.

Phone call with acknowledge

The MOBOTIX camera can also keep calling a list of phone numbers in sequence until one user answers. In order to ensure that the person being called is also authorized to receive the call, he must key in a PIN number to acknowledge the call. Otherwise, the camera attempts to call the next user on the saved list of phone numbers.

Following the call, you can define whether to hang up or to activate the audio function. The operator can choose whether to facilitate only a voice message to the camera speaker, to tap the room or to facilitate bidirectional communication. Various camera functions can be activated additionally via the keypad of the telephone. Among other things, the last event can be scanned, the switch output can be set or an email can be sent containing the current image.

Flexible network message

The IP notify function allows the camera to be integrated simply into higher-level control station systems. In an alarm scenario, the camera transmits a network message to a specified IP address with a port number, whereby symbolic addresses via DNS are also supported. Multiple destination addresses can be specified, in which case the MOBOTIX camera either sends the message to all the addresses simultaneously or tries each recipient in turn until the message is accepted by the first one. It can also be specified here that, in addition to acknowledging by the computer, the user also has to acknowledge the alarm explicitly (for example, through the MxControlCenter).
The actual message may contain variables which can only be filled in run time, such as the current event number, the IP address of the camera or the time of the event. In addition to the purely binary strings, an http request is also possible.

IP Notify

Integrated remote access via a network or ISDN to MxControlCenter takes place via the same mechanism.

Email with variables

MOBOTIX cameras can't just transmit individual current live images by email, they can also send whole clips. The image format can even be selected independent of the live image, i.e. megapixel images can be recorded but, for information purposes, only CIF images are sent, taking up less memory capacity. In order to generate an informative email, variables can be integrated into the subject line which are only updated during transmission time.
