file server archives
Lundi 10 Avril 2006 4:00:51 pm
My Mobotix cameras send their images to a central file server for storage. Is there a way, using the MxViewer, to tell the file server to engage in circular recording (i.e., when the partition gets full, how do I get it to start overwriting old clips)? Thanks.

if your FTP server is installed on a windows machine, u can use a script with windows scheduler to delete the old files. The same thing with linux, u can activate a deamon to to that job

NAS storage
Dimanche 27 Avril 2008 6:15:12 pm
Hello All
I have a similar issue, I have two cameras a M22IT & a D22IT, and both cameras store events to a NAS unit which holds a 500 gig drive via a SMB profile as the FTP profile didn’t seem to work. From this we connect a laptop into the network when we need to view stored events.
I to thought that the cameras would overwrite the oldest files after the drive became full but this does not seem to be the case. I’ve now gone and manually deleted all the old files and I have set the cameras to only store events for 90 day. Is this the solution or am I missing something?
Any help would be gratefully received.
