ABP Support Mr. Publications: 0	gmail issue Mardi 05 Avril 2011 5:20:15 pm I would like to know if Gmail accounts can receive emails triggered by VM. I know that Gmail requires SSL for SMTP and that Mobotix cameras do not support SSL for SMTP. I also know of the work around of using a relay server in order to get the messages. The info I am working off of is a few years old and so I am asking if updates have been made to the cameras to support sending emails with SSL or is a relay server still needed?

I have exactly follow the instructions of the YouTube video. I use a M12 day/night camera with a software release of V3.5.2.23. But my E-mail notification didn't work?

I think you should take a look at the 2nd part of that tutorial where Simon explains how to send e-mails notifications with cameras with firmware older than 4.0.4.18.

What I would suggest to you is to try the work-around that a user shared a few months ago; read what John Pesto (towards the end of the page) wrote about STUNNEL.

Publications: 1	Change SMTP Relay Mardi 10 Janvier 2012 10:15:36 am I guess there are only a few options for you: - create a new mail account with an E-Mail Provider that doesn't require SSL and use its authenticated SMTP Relay (here is a long list) - use an open SMTP Relay (without authentication) but nowadays it's very hard to find one and e-mails sent through this kind of relays are more likely to be blocked as spam. Hope this helps!

Now I have choosen for AOL.com (free) and that is also good working. For the smtp server I have choosen for "smtp.aol.com:587" (no SLL required) Problem solved.

Take a mail account with no SSL , use this new adress with mobotix trigger event. And make an autoforward in this new mail account to send the receive mail of your camera to your other account mail. (wich no run with Mobotix). its running for me Julien

In my Monotix camera setting I can input my destination E-mailadress (private E-mail). Now everything works fine, now I receiving a E-mail when someone passes my IR gate (via SI)

I would like to know if Gmail accounts can receive emails triggered by VM. I know that Gmail requires SSL for SMTP and that Mobotix cameras do not support SSL for SMTP. Hello

I want also to receive an E-mail notification.

I actually don't know whether Mobotix is willing to release a new firmware for M12.
What I would suggest to you is to try the work-around that a user shared a few months ago; read what John Pesto (towards the end of the page) wrote about STUNNEL.

The E-mail was fine working but now is my trail version of SMTP2GO ended.

I had the same problem on Axis camera.

I have found an easy way.

Take a mail account with no SSL , use this new adress with mobotix trigger event.

And make an autoforward in this new mail account to send the receive mail of your camera to your other account mail. (wich no run with Mobotix).
