Time sync

Hello!
My company use different Mobotix cameras. Video is recording to QNAP mini server with it's own OS. Due to restrictions, camera's network don't have any internet connection. Is it possible to set up cameras to sync their time with QNAP or other computer in this network?

Hi Egor -

You can set your cameras to sync to any device that's set up to run as a timeserver. If your QNAP device is set up to sync times, you can have your cameras sync to it. Otherwise, you can set a camera up as a timeserver by putting '127.127.1.0' in one of the timeserver fields. Then, you can have other devices sync to that camera.

NTP time sync to your DHCP/DNS server

This is an option which I use, if your cameras are setup to use DHCP. Even if they are not, if your DHCP/DNS server runs NTP, you still might be able to get time sync from it.
