About the MOBOTIX MxPEG DirectShow Codec

The MOBOTIX MxPEG DirectShow Codec allows playing back MxPEG clips (.mxg files) on 32 and 64 bit Windows computers using Windows Media Player or other DirectShow-enabled applications. MxPEG clips are audio/video recordings from MOBOTIX cameras, which have been exported from MxControlCenter, MxEasy or the browser user interface of a MOBOTIX camera.

Installation

• Download the MxPEG_DirectShow_Codec_*-Setup.exe file.
• Double-click on the downloaded file to start the installation process.

The installer automatically sets the Windows Media Player as the standard application for .mxg files. Once the codec has been installed, you can play back exported MxPEG clips (.mxg files) in Windows Media Player simply by double-clicking on the desired file.

Welcome to the MOBOTIX MxPEG DirectShow Codec

The MOBOTIX MxPEG DirectShow Codec allows playing back MxPEG clips (.mxg files) on 32 and 64 bit Windows computers using Windows Media Player or other DirectShow-enabled applications. MxPEG clips are audio/video recordings from MOBOTIX cameras, which have been exported from MxControlCenter, MxEasy or the browser user interface of a MOBOTIX camera.

Known Limitations

• The Loading clip dialog has not been localized yet.
• Clips with a frame rate of less than 0.2 fps frames per second will be played back to fast.
• When playing back clips, where a resolution change has occurred while recording, the clip may sometimes show a black frame.
• The codec cannot play back corrupt clips.
• When starting a clip from the media library of Windows Media Player (version 11 or higher), the player does not show any time information and the slider for selecting the current position within the clip does not work. When opening the clip with a double-click or by selecting File > Open in Windows Media Player, the player shows the time information and the slider works as usual.
• This version of the codec does not support the display of meta information (date/time, events) as subtitles.
• Playing back live streams and file server structures is not supported.
• DirectShow applications, which are using frame-based searches (e.g. VirtualDub), are not supported.
